MS Walk and Fun Run - this Sunday 3 June
This Sunday is the 2012 MS Walk and Fun Run. Three family members of ours are giving the walk a go, including my 5 year-old nephew Roman.
Did you know that MS affects over 21,000 Australians? So, if you can, please consider sponsoring a team or giving a general donation.

meet our guest window stylist ... maduncle
Wow! What a beautiful window display we have for you this week. Colourful autumn leaves, white ceramic bunnies, vintage milk bottles, rustic crates, new glass cloches and sunny gerberas.
It's also a first for me as this is the first time, in over 11 months, that a guest stylist has dressed the manufactory's window.
Our guest stylist is maduncle, also known as Cliff Overton, my husband. Cliff has taken on board 'The Block's' mantra of less is more to create a pared back, striking window display. And it looks so cheerful. Just what we all need during these cooler, dreary days.
Who knows, this may be the start of a series of window displays prepared by other guest stylists... and if the calibre of this display is anything to go by, I may just be out of a job soon.

We have some lovely vintage items in store at the moment. Yellow toned crates, large bobbins, embossed tins and a great trike with racing stripes. Blue suitcases, large numbers, books, kitchen canisters and oil cans. A green veggie stand, old signs, canisters, clocks and bird cages. Red tool boxes, carts, pulleys, tools and embossed tins. And many more...

Mothers Day is nearly here
We have some lovely present ideas for your Mother and other loved ones. Our main window display currently features red, chocolate and glass vintage items scattered with fresh botanical offerings (sorry, the little dog is now SOLD).
Our smaller window is stocked with industrial metal filing drawers (single and doubles, priced from $30). It's topped with white ceramic pear bud vases that look gorgeous filled with small flowers picked fresh from the garden.
Our ceiling is dripping with colourful parasols from Boston Umbrellas, and our dresser is stocked with new kitchenware including straw dispensers, napkin holders and sundae dishes.
To add inspiration for your home and garden, we are now stocking a range of books. From Sibella Court's etcetera, to French General's The French Inspired Home, we hope you love these titles as much as we do!
SUNDAY TRADING: We will open Mothers Day, Sunday 13 May, from 10am.

Customers are such fun (part II)
We had a fantastic Friday evening last Friday 20 April. A special thanks to those customers who dropped by, and many grabbed themselves a bargain too!
One of our regular customers , David, was pretty stoked to model Clifford's latest raygun. So, I just had to take this photo and post it for your enjoyment...
And here's another angle:
Fantastic, and the steampunk corner looks pretty great, too.
For those of you who missed us, we will be opening more Friday nights closer to Christmas, so stay tuned.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY ALERT:
Please remember that we are closed all day for Anzac Day, Wednesday 25 April.

Amazing Vintage Finds
From trikes, to carts and a rocking horse, to wall clocks, fobs, industrial shelving and stencils, we are nicely stocked up (sorry, the lovely horse is now SOLD).
That being said, we brought into the store last evening two of the most beautifully preserved folding measuring staffs that I had ever seen. Made in England by the engineering company Holbro, their colour and patina is just gorgeous. And after today, we have only one left (some of our regular customers are just so wonderfully regular)!
This staff is a trifold, measuring 90cm in length, and is secured with a leather strap (each segment is around 30cm). It complements our stick of inches, yard sticks, dumpy level and surveyors measuring staffs (metal and wood) quite nicely too. POA.
